If you are looking for a browser based VoIP provider where you can make online calls without downloading any softphone or any other such application, yes you can directly make calls from your Firefox and Intenet explorer  or whatever web browser you are using.

This vox.io browser application doesn't even need flash player. This would be a best option for those who do not have download/install rights on their computers. Not only that but it uses standard media ports which doesn't need any firewall stuff. Also Vox.io consumes very low bandwidth during internet calls. Since it's uses low bandwidth and some smart audio codecs, therefore you will get good voice quality.

The good feature is, you can also recieve calls from other vox.io user (You will not be able to recieve call from a regular phone). Same like the other VoIP based providers, vox.io to vox.io calls are totally free whereas calls from Vox to Mobile or Landline have some charges. I tried making calls to India using this services, they charge two eurocents per min to India mobile. This rate is little higher than others.

You would need to get invitation from the other Vox.io users to sign up. However, in my case I logon to their site and they sent my invitaion to my given email address. This is due to maintain cleaner system from Spammers and anonymous users.
