As we know Google introduced voice service last year which become very popular and there are currenlty 1 million google voice accounts exist. The reason is this is a free services and everyone loves to make free calls. In start Google was offering VoIP service based on invitation.

 

Google established the core voice technology after buying the VoIP based company GrandCentral in mid if 2007. So now Google has closed the sign-up subsciption for GrandCentral service. Later one a few months ago Google offered this free voip voice service to student without invitations.

But now google has open his VoIP based voice service to everyone, no invitation required! This is basically web based voice platform from google where you can manage all your telephony account i.e. you can set number of rings you want to recieve, you can setup your voicemail account, voicemail greetings and text messages etc, by the way text messages currenlty only work with-in USA and Canada. Also you can buy low price minutes to differnt countries.

 

The conclusion is, if you are in US or Canada, you can make free calls and free text messages.
