Today is Saunday and I wanted to call Canada where my sister lives. If I call from my cell phone it is expensive for me to calling USA and Canada from landline and mobile. So I tried searching on the inernet to find a cheapest way to call Canada, but I was surprised when I found that I can make free calls using Gmail account. 

 

Then I though it will be long procedure to sing-up etc and some other registration may required to make myself elegible to make free calls, but I was more happy to know that NO need of anything unless I have Gmail account.

So the making free calls process is very simple and easy what i did is, there was a dialer phone in the Gmail browser, and there was a link where i clicked an downloaded a plugin, after that I simply selected Canada from the list and dialed 10 digit number WOW .. I talked for a long long time just for FREE.

 

So what you need to do:

  1. Login to your Gmail account.
  2. On the left side where you contacts added, click on "Call Phone"
  3. A phone dialer will be pop for you on right corner. And you will find link on dialer where you will click and install Google Voice Account Plugin.
  4. Restart the browser and now enjoy free calling to USA and Canada.

 

One thing, you can also recieve calls on your Google Voice account where Gmail will display your Google voice phone number. But I guess this feature is only for USA but I'm not sure, please try and share your feed back in comments area.
